AQUALENS Lab | Scientific Research & Academic Repository
A specialized academic and research platform developed for the AQUALENS Lab at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU). The site serves as a dynamic hub for nutrition-sensitive aquaculture research, featuring a comprehensive repository for scientific publications, thesis abstracts, and global research collaborations.
Overview:
AQUALENS Lab is a pioneering research group focused on sustainable fisheries and blue economy solutions. The project required a platform that could handle complex academic data, showcase international funding partnerships (including USAID, USDA, and DANIDA), and provide a professional digital space for lab members and students to share their scientific contributions.
My Role:
As the lead developer, I was responsible for designing and developing a site that met the rigorous standards of an academic institution. I focused on creating a clean, "science-first" UI that prioritizes information density and ease of access to research data.
Key Features & Implementation:
Academic Repository: Engineered custom modules to organize and display scientific publications and student theses, including metadata such as authors, batch sessions, and roll numbers.
Global Collaboration Showcase: Designed a dedicated section to highlight partnerships with international organizations like the University of Copenhagen and Oregon State University, using a clean logo-grid layout to establish institutional authority.
Dynamic Project Tracking: Built a project management interface to showcase ongoing and completed research, such as the "Mechanization of Fish Production" model, providing transparency to funders and stakeholders.
Member & Faculty Profiles: Created a structured team directory to introduce lab members, PI (Principal Investigators), and student researchers, fostering a sense of community and professional identity.
Mobile-Responsive Data Tables: Ensured that dense research data and publication lists remain readable and navigable across all devices, from desktop monitors to smartphones.
SEO for Academia: Optimized the site structure so that research papers and lab activities are easily discoverable by the global scientific community.
The Result:
A professional, high-authority research portal that effectively communicates the lab's impact on food security and nutrition. The platform successfully centralizes years of scientific effort into an accessible, modern interface that enhances the lab's global digital footprint.
